Context
Defining and building an AI-first QA tool for email marketers.
This year I was Validity’s founding designer for their new AI team to develop a new AI product and pioneering an AI-first design process using Claude Code.
Partnering closely with a cohort of 8 users in an incubator-style process, running rapid prototype cycles to test ideas and surface insights quickly, and ultimately define what we build.
Co-designing core interaction patterns, UI, and implementing design system, while establishing AI-forward design processes that the wider team adopted.
Process
Pioneering an AI-first design process across teams
My approach to design has inevitably changed with the advancement of AI, changing how I brainstorm, research, and build functional designs. It's evolved team environments where everyone is empowered to create.
As the foundational AI-first designer at Validity, I've had the privilege and responsibility of testing processes fast and scaling what works across teams.
I've learned that AI is a companion, not a replacement to creativity. It removes the friction between idea and execution, giving designers more room to focus on the thinking that only humans can do.
